Why Metrocare?

Metrocare is more than a workplace. It’s a mission-driven community dedicated to transforming lives throughout Dallas County. As the largest provider of mental health, developmental disability, and permanent-supportive housing services in the area, Metrocare serves approximately 50,000 individuals annually, giving employees the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact in their community every day.

Workplace Culture

At Metrocare, workplace culture isn’t a tagline… it’s a daily commitment to creating an environment where every employee feels valued, supported, and empowered. We believe people thrive when they feel a sense of belonging, purpose, and well‑being. That’s why our culture is built on inclusion, continuous learning, and genuine care for both our workforce and our community.

Metrocare is committed to building an inclusive, empowering workplace where every employee feels valued and supported. Through initiatives led by the Culture Champions Committee, staff routinely participate in volunteer-led community celebrations—from Hispanic Heritage Month to the Dallas Pride Parade—reinforcing belonging and representation across the agency. Our workplace culture is also grounded in brain health–forward practices. Metrocare encourages evidence-based brain health principles, such as single tasking and brain breaks, to better support a balanced work environment.

Metrocare also invests deeply in employees’ long‑term growth by offering exceptional clinical training, cultural competence development, extensive continuing education, and structured leadership pathways. Employees have access to instructor‑led training and professional development programs to prepare emerging leaders to advance within the organization.
