Frequently asked questions
Who is eligible for ECI?
Children from birth up to age 3 who have a medically diagnosed condition likely to cause a delay, an auditory or visual impairment, or a developmental delay. Eligibility is determined through an evaluation.
How do I refer a child?
Anyone can make a referral. Call 214-331-0109 and share the child’s name and date of birth, where the child lives, the primary caregiver’s contact information, the family’s primary language and your concerns. If a child is within 45 days of turning 3, the referral is sent to the local school district.
How much do ECI services cost?
Families who can afford to share in the cost pay on a sliding scale based on family size and income. Evaluations, case management and IFSP development are free, and no family is turned away for inability to pay.
