Frequently asked questions
Who qualifies for LIDDA services?
Dallas County residents age 3 or older with an intellectual or developmental disability or related condition, a pervasive developmental disorder such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, or nursing facility residents eligible for specialized IDD services. Metrocare’s Eligibility Determination Unit makes the determination.
How do I get started?
Call 214-333-7000 or email IDDReferrals@metrocareservices.org to schedule an eligibility determination assessment. Once eligible, you are assigned a Metrocare Service Coordinator.
What are the interest lists?
Interest lists are the State waitlists for Medicaid waiver programs. Waits are often 10 years or more, so Metrocare encourages families to enroll as early as possible.
