Her diverse background includes serving as CEO of LaunchAbility\, the fourth largest pediatric home care and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) agency in Texas and a 30-year-old diversity hiring program that is still revolutionary to this day. Price also serves as a member of the House Natural Resources Committee\, the House Public Health Committee\, and the House Redistricting Committee. Recently\, Price was presented with a 2020 Legislative Champion Award by Mental Health America. During his tenure\, Metrocare has achieved nationally recognized CARF accreditation and most recently CCBHC (Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic) status\, the gold-standard of behavioral health care. \nPrior to Metrocare\, Dr. Burruss was Executive Medical Director for Affiliates at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where he managed the Affiliated Medical Services of Baylor and the University of Texas Health Science Center\, the largest physician practice in the State of Texas. Dr. Burruss was the youngest Dean ever appointed at Baylor when he became Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs in 2005. Subsequently\, he served as Chief Medical Officer for Baylor from 2009-2010. Throughout that time\, Dr. Burruss was a practicing psychiatrist on the medical staff at Ben Taub Hospital where he was Chief of Psychiatry from 2002 to 2008. \nDr. Burruss earned his MD and completed a psychiatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston after a bachelors in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. He has also trained at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine and the Harvard School of Public Health.  He is a Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern\, Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the American College of Psychiatrists.
