Veteran Support Group

Open group for veterans (men and women) needing support or help in moving forward. This group is a place to discuss issues common to veterans including transitioning to civilian life and all the challenges it entails. Facilitated by clinician/veteran Charles Johnson, LCDC.

  • Meets weekly on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Group is ongoing & regular attendance not required

Gold Star Family Members Support Group

Gold star families have paid the highest price for war—the death of a spouse, parent, son, or daughter during his/her service. This group is open to any adult/older teen family member whose loved one was killed in action or suffered a non-combat related death while in the armed forces.

  • Meets first and third Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m
  • Group is ongoing & regular attendance not required

Teen Talk

Providing a place for teens who come from military-involved families to have a place to talk to others with similar backgrounds. For teens 13 and older who are currently receiving (or have received) services at our clinic. Facilitated by clinician Megan Quillicy, LPC-S and Valor.

  • Meets 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Group is ongoing & regular attendance not required

Coping with Anger 

Struggling to shake feelings of anger or irritability? Does your anger ever go from zero to sixty in a split second? Join this class and learn to anticipate your reactions, harness your emotions to decrease upheaval, enjoy improved relationships – and feel better! Facilitated by clinician/veterans Tom Cook, PhD and Aqueelah Collier, LMSW.

  • Meets weekly on Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 
  • Group is ongoing & regular attendance not required

LGBT Veteran Support Group

America is home to an estimated one million lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) veterans. This group is committed to providing a safe space to all LGBT veterans to give and receive support with peers. Facilitated by clinicians Stacy Bonds, MS and Ryan Holliday, MA.

  • Meets weekly on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Group is ongoing and regular attendance is not required

Post-treatment Group

This group is for adults who have completed at last 8 sessions of cognitive-behavioral based individual or couples therapy, who are looking to maintain/extend gains made in treatment. This group will reinforce cognitive-behavioral strategies and introduce other life-enhancing skills in a 12-week rotating manner. Facilitated primarily by clinician Caitlin Schraufnagel, PhD.
  • Meets on Mondays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Group is ongoing and regular attendance is not required
