Emmitt Smith has spoken publicly on the topic of mental health issues, advocating for the importance of talking openly. Metrocare is honored to have Mr. Smith speak at our October 5th Meal for the Minds luncheon, celebrating our 50th anniversary.

Fifty years ago, the conversations around mental illness were almost nonexistent. Today, people from every walk of life are beginning to talk about the impact of not addressing mental health issues.

Our mission is to break the silence, fight the stigma, and change minds.

As a nationally recognized leader, Emmitt Smith elevates this mission each time he speaks publicly about our country’s mental health epidemic. His success throughout his career in the National Football League, television broadcasting, real estate and philanthropy provides a unique platform to influence others to speak up and reach out.

Smith’s impressive resume includes three Super Bowl champion rings, being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and successes as a family man, businessman, entrepreneur, and author. Active in charitable outreach both in the Dallas area and on a national level, Smith founded Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities with his wife to provide unique experiences and educational opportunities to underserved youth. Smith currently resides with his wife, Pat, and their five children in Dallas, TX.

Please join us at our Meal for the Minds luncheon on October 5th to hear Emmitt Smith break the silence, fight the stigma and change minds. We are honored to share this opportunity with you.
