DESCRIPTION:Multicultural knowledge\, self-awareness\, and skill application are the foundation for implementing and engaging competently with a diverse client population (Sue et al.\, 2022). In this session\, we will review counseling multicultural competencies\, discuss the Multicultural Orientation framework\, and how to apply trauma-informed multiculturally responsive perspectives and behaviors into your practice. \nBy the end of this training session\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand personal and professional counseling competencies that support working with individuals from diverse backgrounds\nDiscuss the pillars of the Trauma Informed Care and the Multicultural Orientation Framework\nAnalyze strategies for demonstrating a trauma-informed multiculturally responsive counseling practice using the Multicultural Orientation Framework\nApply trauma-informed multiculturally responsive perspectives and behaviors to respective theory and counseling practice with a diverse client population\n\nRegister Here\nCost: $25.00 (Metrocare Staff are free) \nLocation: Mustang Room \nSeats are limited. Dr. K has experience providing trauma-focused services to a diverse population across multiple counseling settings.
