PURPOSE OF JOB:
Implement psychiatric interventions including, but not limited to, prescribing/monitoring of psychotropic medications. Monitors the individual’s response to psychiatric interventions and adjusts interventions to the individual’s changing needs. Engages and involves family and significant others as positive allies in the treatment process where possible and appropriate.
Delivers clinical psychiatric services consistent with approved program/service models, philosophy of care, Board policies, agency administrative procedures, and applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Documents services and progress according to Metrocare Services procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
M.D. or D.O. with experience in community mental health and crisis intervention. Bilingual or sign language is a plus. Medical licensure in Texas and BC/BE required. Must have supervisory experience and computer software experience.
