Metrocare is a community mental health and mental retardation center serving the residents of Dallas County. Governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Dallas County Commissioners Court, the Center provides a comprehensive array of services and supports for people dealing with the challenges of mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.
Established in 1967 as Dallas County MHMR, Metrocare currently provides services to more than 50,000 individuals annually.
