Verlean Walton-Brooks has varied experience that spans several careers and industries. Ms. Walton-Brooks started her career in the dental field and moved quickly into the medical field while attaining her bachelor's degree.

A native of Arkansas, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1984. Ms. Walton-Brooks started working in the field of Developmental Disabilities and Mental Retardation in North Dakota, where she received an Associates of Arts in Developmental Disabilities from Minot State University in 1991.

Ms. Walton-Brooks enjoyed a brief stint as a counselor at the Little Rock Job Corps.

After relocating to Texas, Ms. Walton-Brooks attained her Master’s degree in Counseling from Amber University in Garland in 1994. Ms. Walton-Brooks then dedicated her career to the area of Human Resources, training and development. Previously, she was the Program Director of a Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities grant at The ARC of Dallas.

Ms. Walton-Brooks currently is an independent technical writing and development consultant.
